Taylor Leslie The Academy Prep Program is the feeder program for the Mike Wolf Tennis Academy. The players involved in this program must be serious about their development and motivated to reach the next level. Each player will be expected to manage the same expectations as the kids at
the highest level of the academy.

Much of the same overall format that the academy uses will be taught in the Academy Prep Program. An emphasis will be placed on teaching the players our academy fundamentals that are vital to continued growth. This is a great setting to prepare you for the elite level of competition. Many times during the semester we will expose the Academy Prep players to the Mike Wolf Tennis Academy practices and players. We want both the players and coaches to regularly evaluate if and when a progression can be made. Numerous lofty goals have been set for the Academy Prep Players. There are three levels within Academy Prep.

AP1:

This program is for the players that are just beginning to gain tennis experience. They are setting specific tournament schedules as well as sitting down with parents and coaches and establishing concrete goals for the semester of tennis. These players have decided that they want to strive to reach the Mike Wolf Tennis Academy level and are prepared to commit the time necessary to genuinely work on their game. Mental and physical toughness become part of this program. At this stage the players begin to feel a sense of ownership with regard to their game. Regular evaluations will be made by the staff in an effort to move the players forward at the right time.

AP2:

For players that have begun working with an academy coach in one on one sessions, as well as started participating in tournament play.  These players must have a fundamental understanding of strokes, and the the following basic tennis concepts: understanding the "Basic 6", ball control/direction, start tournament play, positioning and start running plays.  At this level some strategic analysis begins to take place.

AP3:

For the players that are just beginning to gain tennis experience.  The Prince "Stay 'n' PLay" Program with specifically designed racquets and balls will be utilized to help the players with stroke technique and ball control.  Some of the more specific areas of focus are: Teamwork, listening, asking questions, energy, attitude and effort, and an introduction to the "Basic 6".
